Experience a behind-the-scenes look at how Kentucky Derby and Oaks contenders prepare for the big race with industry insiders. You and your guests will view morning workouts from the backside of Churchill Downs, an area not available to the general public, hearing what betting experts watch for as each Derby and Oaks hopeful gallops along the backstretch in their final exercises before race day.
Following the 7am workouts, you will receive a private tour of Churchill Downs' stable area. This is a truly unique opportunity to learn how equine athletes are conditioned for the races in real-time. You will see trainers, jockeys, jockey agents, veterinarians, blacksmiths, bloodstock agents (consultants who buy and sell horses on behalf of their clients), horse consigners, and front-side staff preparing for the Most Exciting Two Minutes in Sports. Your tour host will facilitate conversations with industry personnel as they are available; the morning is a very active workday at the track, you never know who you’ll run into!
This is also a great time for horse racing Q&A with your host, as he is extremely knowledgeable about every facet of the industry. No question is too basic or complicated.
